I am an old established user of these push rims and have had many years use from my last set. Having just ordered a replacement set I am less impressed with their quality – my description ‘replacement surge push rims have been duly fitted, no problem, but the quality of the rubber insert alignment / bedding is more than questionable. No problem at this time but they nominally misalign the rims at varying points and will be subject to being continually disturbed by my fingers when the chair is being propelled. We all know that a breakdown in adhesion is listed as a considered area of weakness with the rims and my new ones seem to make that consideration bigger. No immediate problem for use, only my concern that the life of the push rims may quickly be shortened. These surge rims replace others, and that leads to my comparison.
