Great hand rims. Thickly coated and good, tacky grip. I had used Push Blax hand rims for years, but have noticed the manufacturing quality has decreased over the years. Of the last 4 pairs I'd purchased, 2 had worn out in less than 4 months (I usually get about 18 months out of a pair). Needless to say, I decided to seek out another hand rim, and I'm glad I did. These have a thicker, grippier coat than anything else I've used, including vinyl coating, duracush, and the aforementioned blax hand rims.

Simply the best handrims I've used in 20+ years of chair use. As a C7-8 quad, I find these to have the best tackiness I've ever used. More of my energy is transferred to propelling the wheel forward rather than just maintaining grip on the rim. They are very durable as well - I am only now starting to have an issue with one spot on one rim after almost a year of use, but that's thanks to the airline industry. Got my chair back from them with several new dings. I used to constantly wear gloves to get the grip I need, but now never need to wear them.

Advantages: Superior grip.
Durability.

Disadvantages: Price (expensive, but worth it).
Friction build-up going down hill.

I'm a C-5/6 SCI with limited grip. I have pushed a manual wheelchair for 50 years and The Q-Grip coated handrim is my favorite.

Advantages: Maximum grip.

Disadvantages: Easily cuts if you're not careful.

These are absolutely the best addition to my manual wheelchair! They are more expensive than other options, but they are worth every extra dollar!! I am a C6-7 quad with a bit of hand function, but I can't grip a hand rim. I have tried every coated hand rim on the market in the 7 years since my injury, and these are there only ones that give me a safe, functional grip for up and down hills, and turns, but also make wheelies, fast spins and hard pushing possible. I buy a new set every 2 years because i end up taking chunks out of the rubber by bashing into things, but if you're gentle, you'll get many years of wear from them. I wear leather baseball batting gloves when I'm going any further than a block or when I'm playing sports to prevent friction burns and really maximize my traction. I highly recommend these hand rims for anyone with low hand function. Don't bother trying the cheaper options, these are the BEST BY FAR!

Advantages: Ultimate grip for quadriplegic and others with low hand function.

Disadvantages: Most expensive of all coated hand rims (well worth the cost though).
